Harvest

I decided work during the beet harvest this year. It only lasted a few weeks but we worked 14 hour days 6 days a week. I worked past Rupert in like Minidoka or somewhere close to that.
I worked in a tarehouse shown above on a piler.
Trucks pull up and my job was to track the truck number and take samples from every 3rd truck from the same grower and field. Beets are fed onto a hopper and carried up, the dirt is filtered onto another belt that is weighed and then the beets are dumped into a huge pile to be carried away later. The samples come through a tube into a bag.
Here's a picture of a busy day. We had 3 pilers at our dump. I was helping out in #1 for a little bit.
I worked in piler #2. The sampling was a lot different than the other two pilers. In ours, we had to place a bucket onto a lever that would catch beets. Then we took it inside and dumped it onto a tray with a bag attached at the bottom and then we would pick up the bag and toss it into a crate down below. Our piler was also up high, not on the ground like the others.
This was the biggest beet I saw, also the first one to be captured in my bucket. It was HUGE!
My co-worker Faith! We had so much fun and we carpooled together.
The end of the season view of all 3 dumps.
We thought it would be fun to climb the beets.

Pre-School

Cole's very first day of pre-school was today! I can't believe he old enough to be in school already.
He has school 3 days a week 2 hours a day. He is in the morning class.
I snapped a picture of him getting to know kids in his class.
Here he is with his teacher Miss Dawn. It's going to be a fun year and he really likes school already. His friend Isabelle is in his class.

Camping

We went camping at Lava Hot Springs Aug 5-7. We stopped at Ross Park in Pocatello on our way there. It is such a great place for kids!

The perfect depth for the little ones.

My favorite part was the lazy river, so relaxing.
That night, we found a campground and this is what we saw the next morning, geese.
Our tent was right next to the river. I took the above picture, then turned and took the second.

We were meeting Brock, Montana & Melanie for our second night of camping. This is a park we stopped at for a bit for the kids to play.
Our next camp was at Smith's Trout Haven. The boys played with Peyton & Mason in the grass.
Both nights we were there, it was really windy & rainy in the evening. Brady doesn't seem to like the umbrella much.
The last day, we went to the pool in Lava. Cole went down the slide quite a bit.
It even started raining today and they closed the pool due to lightning so we just left.
We really had a fun weekend.

Fun in the Car

July 29th, we all went to Twin Falls for Target's toy clearance sale.
We found a lot of great deals that we will save for Christmas. We even stopped at Harbor Freight and got some free flashlights, Jason's favorite part. We have soooo many coupons for free flashlights so whenever we happen to be near a Harbor Freight, we all get one, even the kids.
I snapped some photos on the way home.
They must have really had a long day. (Brady is holding one of the flashlights)

Harris Pond

On my 30th birthday we went to Harris Pond...

Cole & Brady both went on the zip line.
Cole had fun on the water with some of his cousins.

Aunt Ruby's House

This past week I left for a couple days and went to Utah to see my Aunt Ruby with my dad, Joyce, Glen & Iris. This was the first time I have ever been away from my boys overnight.
Here we are relaxing in the pool...
and trying to avoid the sun for the picture!
Me, Glen & Aunt Ruby (my dad's sister).
