I Love a Good Deal

A couple weeks ago I went to Old Navy and found some clothes on clearance and used a 30% off coupon. I bought 7 items for $20. Then I went to Target to browse around and ended up stumbling on their first day of their toy clearance sale. Everything I bought was 75% off! I kept picking things up and putting them back because I wasn't looking to buy toys but quickly thought about Christmas. I had the kids with me so I let Cole tell me what he liked. I had to convince him to leave some items at the store that I didn't want him to have, but he was fine with that. We left with 6 regularly expensive toys (including a tonka scoot & ride truck for $10) and a shirt and shorts all for $40. When we got home Cole was ready to play with the toys but we told him he had to wait for Christmas. He doesn't realize it is so far away but he left them unopened. Eventually we told him Santa was going to come get the presents while he was asleep and bring them back on Christmas. We then hid them where no one will look. We did't hide the truck so the next morning Cole saw it and said, "Santa forgot this one." A couple days later we hid it and Cole hasn't complained.

A week later we went to a yard sale and found a cute white bookcase that looks like it came from Pottery Barn. We only paid $13. I love finding good deals!

Summer Pictures

Our baby is 4 months now. Ready to go to Harris Pond for my mom's ward 24th of July party.

July 28th - Cole after going down a blow up water slide at Grandma Jane's birthday party.
Having fun in the bouncy house
Brady getting in on the fun
He recently discovered his feet
Cole loves to hold his brother and is such a good brother

Aug 3 - First time at the pool all summer. Getting used to the water.
Uncle Glen teaching him how to kick and walk on his hands
This is easy mom! He wasn't ready to put his head under yet. I'm planning to put him in swim lessons next summer although I should have done it this summer.

He can hold both fish on his swing now. He used to only hold onto the green whale.
Always smiling for the camera!

Ritchie Family Reunion

This year my mom's family had our family reunion at the KOA in Bear Lake on saturday. We had lunch and talked about family history. There were a lot of fun things for the kids...
miniature golf
bikes
and a huge bouncy pillow

It was raining almost the whole time so we kept Brady covered up.

Cole's First Fish

Cole loves fishing! His dad has been taking him a few times a week for the past 2 weeks now. One night Jason was having a hard time getting Cole to go to sleep, so he told him to go to sleep now and then they would go fishing in the morning. The next morning Jason went to wake him up and as soon as Jason put his hand on Cole's shoulder to wake him up, Cole woke up and said, "time to go fishing?" Cole can't stop talking about how much he wants to go fishing every day. That is all he talks about. These pictures are from their fishing trip friday morning June 12th.

In the past, Jason has helped Cole reel the fish in.
This bass he actually caught all by himself with his little Cars fishing pole shown above!
They take the fishing boat out at Grandma Jane's and sometimes they fish from the dock there or where we live since our apt complex is on the river.

Brady's Baby Blessing

We blessed Brady today. Jason gave a great blessing. Lots of family were there and we had a lunch afterward. We took more pictures, but not with a digital camera. We borrowed this outfit from Jason's sister Amy. It is also the same outfit Cole was blessed in. What a great day. We are so blessed to have two beautiful, healthy boys and look forward to many more happy days together.

Dentist

It has been a while since we have been to the dentist. Now that we have insurance, we made an appointment and Jason, Cole & I went on the same day. Not a good idea. Jason went 1st leaving the rest of us in the waiting room for an hour. When my turn came, they took x-rays then asked if I wanted to come back another day for my cleaning. I said I would and then it was Cole's turn. This was his 1st trip to the dentist. He was a little resistant at first but ending up doing very well.
He liked the idea he could wear sunglasses
Dad held him while the dentist examined his teeth. Cole didn't open his mouth very wide like we had practiced, but wide enough to get the job done.
