Cole Starts First Grade

The first day of 1st Grade was Aug 27th.  Cole's teacher is Mrs. Gunnell and he goes to Mountain View Elementary.
Ready for the first day.  Cole was excited.  He has his own alarm and he woke up to it this morning.
It's hard to get used to waking up early.

Ross Park 2012

On Aug 18th, we went to Ross Park for more fun in the sun!

Our Garden

This year we planted our first garden.  It was very successful.  We planted carrots, chives, peas, 6 tomato plants, red potatoes, and cucumbers.
Cole with the first cucumber on Aug 13th.  Our cucumbers are very huge and taste really good!

Lagoon July 21, 2012

For my birthday, Jason took me to Lagoon.  We left the kids with Grandma Jane and came the night before.

 The haunted house.

I felt sick after spinning upside down on the airplane ride, but felt better later.  We didn't stay all day.

My mom's birthday was Aug 1st.  I took her to Twin Falls and surprized her with her first pedicure.

Nat Soo Pah

On July 7th, we went to Nat Soo Pah and the kids practiced what they learned in swim lessons.
Grandma Ann & Uncle Glen came with us.
Both boys jumped off the diving board a lot.  Cole even went off the highest one.
Brady loves to jump into the water.
Cole couldn't get enough of this slide.  Brady even went down a couple times.

Ritchie Reunion June 30, 2012

We went to Island Park just for the day to the Ritchie Reunion.  It was at Harriman State Park.

Glen caught a fish.
Everyone went for a horseback ride and there were some miniature horses.

Cole's first time going for a horse ride.

He was the first one in the line.  He rode by himself but there was a guide on a horse in front of him that held onto the reigns.  The ride lasted two hours.  He did very well!

Swim Lessons

First year of swim lessons.  We put the kids in two sessions. June 18-29 and July 16-27.

Cole and Brady were in the same class level 1 with Liz Stephens.  They really liked their teacher.
Brady really likes swimming and in this first class, he stayed on the ladder when it wasn't his turn.
Cole learned how to hold his breath under water.

Brady is really good at kicking his legs.
 They liked the game motorboat.

On July 29th the last day, they jumped off the diving board.
This was their favorite part of swim lessons!
 Brady was brave at first,
but needed his dad's help to go over the edge.
 Cole wasn't scared at all.
Cole moved on to level 2 for the second round of swim lessons and learned how to do the rocket.
A couple weeks later, Cole was doing spins off the diving board.
Brady eventually would dive off without any help.  By the second round of lessons, Brady didn't need to hold onto the ladder anymore.
