Cole's First Day of Kindergarten

Cole's had his first day of kindergarten on August 29th. He was excited to go to school.
He wore his spiderman shirt that turns red in sunlight. We had just moved into our new house a few days earlier. Brady is excited too.Cole is going to Mountain View and has Mrs. Plotts.Walking to the playground to wait for the bell. He goes to the afternoon class which starts at 12:15. He has an ironman backpack. When the bell rings, the kids line up behind their the first letter of their teacher's first name.At the playground, a boy from his pre-school class recognized him. His name is Hyrum and they are in the same class together. Then Cole saw another boy from his school, Josiah - in front of Cole in red. They are not in the same class. We picked Cole up on the first day but he complained and wanted to ride the bus. We found out the bus number and he was riding the bus by the third day of school. He absolutely loves it! What a great start to the school year.We only live three blocks from the school and the bus drops him off at the start of our street, only two houses down.

Lagoon

On August 26th, our good friends Debi & BJ Brown invited us to go to Lagoon with them. We took Cole but left Brady home with grandmas since he is so young and wouldn't really enjoy the rides yet. We will take him when he is a little older.
It was amazing how excited Cole was about riding the rides. He wasn't even scared at all!BJ & Debi's kids, Braxton, Kylie & Brandon rode rides with Cole. They went on all the kid rides and also on any grown-up rides they were tall enough for. They all loved the bumper cars and Cole's favorite ride was the blue roller coaster.BJ's family in the Skyscraper. Our fam.ColeThe kids on the car ride home. Cole rode alone with Braxton in the spook alley. It was a really good day!

Crater Lake, Ocean, Redwoods, Bigfoot

We took a family vacation through Oregon, California & Nevada July 24-28. We brought Glen and met my dad, Joyce & Iris at Crater Lake in Oregon.
DAY 1
Crater Lake. There was snow in July!JasonOur first camp site roasting hot dogs.Brady was full of energy running everywhere.Cole was a great helper for Grandpa.
DAY 2
We took a tour up to Applegate Lake between Grants Pass & Medford, OR & found a sign off to the right called Coolings Mountain Trail with a bigfoot print on it. Glen, dad, Jason, Cole & Iris hiked pretty far and finally found the only government funded bigfoot trap! Joyce, Brady & I stayed behind and watched a family of eagles in a tall tree. We ended the evening with dinner in Crescent City, CA & found a camp site in the redwoods.
DAY 3
The Pacific Ocean in CA.The whole gang.We pulled off the road and played at the ocean for a while.Cole & Glen had a lot of fun running and getting their feet wet in the waves.
Paul Bunyan statue in Klamath, CA.Next, we drove through a tree!Brady inside the tree.Cole inside.Pretty big trees!Brady & Cole.We walked through this tree.Last stop of the day was in Willow Creek, CA where the first bigfoot sighting began. We stayed at a camp site near Bluff Creek and our camp host told us bears came out every night. We saw one! Then Iris spotted a deer and then the bear chased it away!Everyone scoping out the bear. The bear was across the river in the canyon below.
DAY 4
We came back to the Willow Creek museum since it was closed the day before. Then we drove through Redding to Reno, NV. We saw Iris's apt and then we stayed the night in the Sands hotel.
DAY 5
We drove through Reno heading back to ID. Before we left, we stopped at Target because I was sure today was going to be their 75% off toys clearance day. I was right! We packed the car with tons of presents we can use for Christmas & birthdays. Jason had GPS on his phone. I am so glad because I tried to find a Target alone earlier & got lost.
